Unfortunately, as you can configure the LTO2 drive to take the LTO1 tape, it
will be treated as an LTO1 tape.
Where possible, try not to use LTO1 tapes unless you absolutely have to :-)

Subject: [Veritas-bu] LTO1 media on LTO2 drives
All,
Scenario:
We have a legacy of LTO cartridges created/written on LTO1 tape drives.
(referred to herein as LTO1 media)
The LTO1 tape drives have been replaced with LTO2 drives.
Question:
When the LTO1 media is written to by the LTO2 drives - will it be at the new
density or the old density ?
( I suspect it will be at the old density because the tape is already
"formated" for LTO1 density. )
Do I need to erase or label the media to ensure it is written to at LTO2
density ?
Thanks in advance,
Jorge
