Justin,

The real fix is to be able to have consistent name resolution - forward
and reverse - on both the client and master. There is a fix that will
make this work. If you remove the two empty folders for the client
under the /usr/openv/netbacup/db/images directory, and re-create them as
symbolic links to the folder that has files in it (the FQDN), then it
will get rid of the issue for that system. Actually, you probably only
need a folder with the short name.=20

As a first test, what if you try to add the client by the IP Address -
Does this prove successful?

        Subject: [Veritas-bu] EXIT STATUS 227: no entity found

        $ /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bplist
        EXIT STATUS 227: no entity was found
=09
        I am having some issues with clients defined in DNS as partial
and FQDN.
=09
        For instance, I did the following:
=09
        $ dmesg > /tmp/dmesg=20
        $ bpbackup /tmp/dmesg
        $ echo $?
        0
        $ bplist
        EXIT STATUS 227: no entity was found
=09
        In the admin backup console the backup completed successfully;
however, bplist is not working.
=09
        The CLIENT_NAME in bp.conf is as follows:
=09
        CLIENT_NAME =3D box-name
=09
        As you can see there is no FQDN.
=09
        When I check the client in NetBackup -> Host Properties ->
Clients, I see the box-name.subdomain.domain.com.
=09
        So then I decided to check /usr/openv/netbackup/db/images.
=09
        I see:
=09
        box-name *empty
        box-name.subdomain *empty
        box-name.subdomain.domain.com *the one with the indicies
=09
        I tried changing the client's name to the FQDN and back to what
it was, I still get:
=09
        $ /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bplist
        EXIT STATUS 227: no entity was found
=09
        Next I checked the netbackup logs on the master server and I
see:=20

=09
        Does anyone know the proper way to fix this issue?
=09
        Thanks,
=09
        Justin.
