you can't change the hostname after the netbackup install (err, well you
can if you're into masochism).
=20
set the machine up with the same hostname as your existing NBU master,
but do it on a lab network or similar.
or don't put the system in NIS, so it doesn't register.....
then set up the netwokr interface with a different hostname Ip.
=20
f'rinstance, I have two netbackup masters (primary and failover) and
each have the same hostname.....neither have a network interface with
that name, but it's the name Netbackup recognizes.
=20
something like this.
=20
both machines named "NBUMaster" (hostname returns NBUMaster)
=20
Primary master has 2 NICs
10.1.1.1 NBUMaster-pri1
10.1.1.2 NBUMaster-pri2
=20
Standby master has 2 NICs
10.2.1.1 NBUMaster-sec1
10.2.1.2 NBUMaster-sec2

        Hey All......=20
=09
I need some clarification on moving Netbackup 4.5 fp9 from a
220r to a 440r.....=20
=09
Note: Hostname and IP will stay the same....=20
=09
Can I configure Netbackup on the new system with a temp
hostname/IP. Then when the time comes=20
rename the new system with the current hostname/IP. And perform
a bprecover to recover the catalog info.....=20
=09
Do I need to install Netbackup after the new box has been
changed hostname/ip wise to the current info?=20
=09
        Thanks....=20
