Sounds like a bad tape. - previouis backup image on that tape require =
that tape to advance to after a current un-expired image
the 1st copy has not expired yet and is in non expiration of continous =
active images.
use bpexpdate -ev ###### -d 0 of tape number from volmgr and specify =
overwrite all media boxes, might change the tape but if expired / =
unnasigned then it should work? Try to initialize the tape using =
robtest?

Does anyone know what this error means? I've got a backup of a few =
hundred gig that won't run. I kick it off and after some period of time =
the backup fails with the following error:

14:47:50.156 [291] <2> bptm: INITIATING (VERBOSE =3D 1): -U=20
14:47:50.157 [291] <2> db_byid: search for media id AK6676=20
14:47:50.157 [291] <2> db_byid: AK6676 found at offset 58=20
14:47:50.172 [291] <2> db_lock_media: unable to lock media at offset 58 =

14:47:50.172 [291] <2> bptm: EXITING with status 0 <----------=20

14:47:52.557 [26571] <16> catch_signal: media manager terminated by =

14:47:52.557 [26571] <2> io_terminate_tape: writing empty backup header, =

14:47:52.557 [26571] <2> io_terminate_tape: reposition to previous =

14:47:52.557 [26571] <2> io_ioctl: command (2)MTBSF 1 from (bptm.c.7869) =

I checked my media mount timeout to no avail (600 seconds) and the jobs =
are failing well before that. After they fail, they get stuck in active =
mode and I have to kill the job off before anything else will run. =
Anyone know what that means?
