but isnt add/zone/discover a one time setup cost?  i
have a few disk stus (not staging) and once setup, i
dont have to do anything to them.  

we use the disk stus as staging and long term space. 
under 4.5, there was no dssu so we scripted out things
to free up space and perform much of what dssus and
vault do.  weve upgraded to 5.1 and havent had the
need to swap over to the dssus as of yet as the normal
disk stu works fine for us.  the cost of a vtl as
opposed to just adding some disk to the san also made
it not a good route for us.  that being said, folks
have different reqs than i so vtls may be a far better fit.
