I would suggest an alternate between disk path and tape media for the
catalog, and possibly rotating a new catalog tape out at least once a
week or more, like 30 days of catalog tape rotations and sending the
catalog tape/tapes off-site per desired retentions for DR.

Bprecover from disk is very fast. Installing a fresh copy of VERITAS is
quick and you only need the master server license key to get it up and
ready for the bprecovery, the var contains the additional license keys
and is easily recovered. A full bprecovery will recover all vital
settings.

Ghosting the master server is a good tool to use to recover the entire
Server.

Hi Everyone
I am looking at ways to protect Netbackup, more importantly, all the
configuration issue, policies and importantly, the tape images.

I have Cataloge backups running after each scheduled backups that take
place, and I have them set to alternate between tapes. Today I also ran
a
catalogue backup to a hard drive.

But in order to get NBU online as FAST as possible, I wanted to look at
doing an "offline" backup of the Veritas\Netbackup Folder.

If I stop all Netbackup Services on the Win2k3 Server, what folders
would be
the essential ones to ensure I can recover netbackup as fast as
possible?

Appreciate any input into this.
