There is an easier way. I have had the same problems for years. Those
protocols are not allowed to be open/active where I work. Whenever I have to
update NB clients, I have one Solaris 8 and 9 box that I use to command line
push the update. The executable is in
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/install_client_files ftp client_name|
your_user_name. I know it's clear text, but ftp is only opened in a few
places. When the ftp push is complete, I log on to my 8 and 9 client and
tar/gz the /tmp/bp directory and scp it back to the master. From there, you
now have the latest client packaqe that can be scp'd, sftp'd to any client
you want. It's not perfect, but since using the gui is not an option, this
is the easiest for me.
