I have a single master/media server in my environment, and a standby at
my DR center.
=20
I'm looking at adding another media server in the main center, to add
more FC and IP bandwidth, and more dedicated drives.
=20
Several applications require dedicated drives, etc, for their backups,
and it seems the best way to do that is with another media server
(cannot Hard assign drives to a storage group on one server)
=20
Basically, I'm wondering about the ability to recover the main
master/media, as well as the second media server to only one master
server located at the DR site, should the need ever arise.
=20
basically combining two physical servers at the main data center into
one server at the DR site.
=20
What is involved here?
=20
Right now, I haven't experimented/researched much with additional media
servers, so I don't even know what is held on the media server......as
far as catalog info, etc, etc.
=20
