As mentioned, many against mails have been posted on this subject.

However, I have done it a couple of times and so have others.

The important key here is to really study the steps before and learning
exactly what happens. Best is to do it in a lab env a couple of times =
first=85
The first time I did this we did get some problems, but it was on =
clients I
missed changed the SERVER name on, so if you are VERY careful and really
understands how netbackup works and where to look if you run into =
trouble
then its not that difficult.=20

I think one of the most educating thing for you to do is to on your own
figure out the exact steps you need to take, you will learn a lot on the
way. Then when you have a good picture of what you`ll need to do you can =
get
some suggestions and so on from this list. I could give you a very brief
explanation of what I did and then you can work your way from there, I =
bet a
lot has changed sins I did this. So drop me a mail and i=B4ll give you =
some
tips and commands.

Although I cannot offer a definitive answer to your question, I=92ve =
seen this
answer asked before on this mailing list and on Veritas=92 newsgroups =
=96 from
everything I have seen, most if not every post or e-mail recommends =
against
doing this.  Those who do proceed and change the hostname have a =
plethora of
problems afterwords.

Hello, I would like some information on Veritas=92 approach to changing =

Veritas. I have seen instructions to do this procedure on the news group =
