If the tape has not already been re-used as a scratch tape, this is somewhat
simple, depending on your environment. First, you need to remove the media
id from the volume database. Just deleting it from the GUI should work fine.
Then, put the new media into the library, making sure that it does not get
added to the Scratch pool. From this point, you will want to do an import of
the new media. For this, you will just need to know the media ID. Follow the
Netbackup Admin manual for details on how to import images from media. Once
these images are imported, you will need to change their expiration date
using bpexpdate, otherwise when the database cleans itself up, it will
expire out these images again.
