No registry on Unix clients but there is a TMPDIR variable (that's its
name) that can be set for shells. =20

=20

I just had a look at my NetBackup init script (/etc/init.d/netbackup or
/sbin/init.d/netbackup depending on Unix flavor you're using) and saw
they are setting this to /tmp within that script.

And this will work for Windows and Unix clients?

VSP follows the temp variable setting within the OS. In order to move
where the VSP temp files are stored, you need to change the registry
entry for the location of temp files on the wintel server.=20

=20

=20

This key is located in HLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session
Manager\Environment

=20

Be careful with this - some legacy apps may be affected by this change
unless those apps are manually changed to recognize the new location for
temp files.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] VSP Question

NBU 5.0 mp3. When VSP creates it temp files how does it know where to
create these? Does it naturally put them on the drive where netbackup is
installed? It does it create temp files on each drive for files on that
drive? Or does it follow a temp variable setting in the OS.

And does anyone know if they have "fixed" VSP in 6.0?=20

Thanks,=20
