This one may be more for the hardware folks...

I have a master and media server set running Solaris and NetBackup 5.1
MP2. I just added the media server and I have discovered a problem. My
master server is connected to a Quantum P7000 library which returns
eight-character barcodes. The media server is hooked to a STK L700e
which is returning six-character barcodes. Is there a way to force the
STK library to read all eight characters of the barcode so that it is
compatible with the Quantum?

I would like to do this in such a way that I do not have to re-create
the 2000+ media database. I know how to manipulate the media ID
generation rules, but the conflict is in how each library sees the
barcodes differently. I'm hoping there is someone else out there that
has seen this.
