We are new to RAC and are just setting up RMAN to do it. Our DBA doing
the RMAN side of things has done that but not RAC.

=20

This is on RedHat EL AS 3 (kernel 2.4.2) using ocfs filesystems.

=20

The sample scripts that come with Netbackup don't mention RAC. =20

=20

>From the Netbackup for Oracle Guide I see we should use the virtual name
to do the backup. =20

=20

1) When connecting to the database he is wondering how does he
connect in the script? =20

He is doing first instance then doing second instance for its archive
logs (even though all are on shared OCFS filesystem). That is if DB
name is PROD he is connecting to instance PROD1 and instance PROD2.
Based on the setup of the tnsnames I believe he should just be able to
tell the script to connect to PROD as it has definitions for the virtual
nodes for PROD1 and PROD2.

=20

2) Does anyone have RMAN scripts for netbackup for RACK they'd be
willing to share so we could model from them?

=20

TIA
