If you are using a Windows Admin server, a much better option than setting the
INITIAL_BROWSE_SEARCH_LIMIT in bp.conf is to disable the "perform default
search" option in the NBU client properties. It's on the General tab and is
enabled by default.

When you browse backups with the option turned off, all of the backup images
are listed -and selected, but you have to manually start the search. This
allows you to select only the backup images of interest before starting the
search.

I think I had the same problem you're having. I added
INITIAL_BROWSE_SEARCH_LIMIT = 14 to /usr/openv/netbackup/bp.conf to
limit the initial search to 14 days.

I was looking at the Sysadmin Guide for 4.5 with regards to indexing the
catalog, but it says that catalog indexing does not apply to binary
catalogs, and I'm fairly certain that these catalogs are binary format.
