Do you have the current exchange database agent loaded from the latest
CD ? Also is the license key current ?

We upgraded to 2003 Master and 2003 Exchange - then added the new
exchange client and license key - it works fine,

=20

Do you have the Netbackup Client service on the Nodes that run exchange
- using an Exchange administrator account not the

Default system account?

We are on the same version of Exchange. The only time I ever get errors
is if the Storage Group has corruption.=20

Windows 2003 Version 5.2 (Build 3790.srv03-gdr.050225-1827)

Exchange 2003 SP1 - Version 6.5 (Build 7226.6: Service Pack 1)

=20

Just a bit more info for you, the Master and all Media Servers are in a
Windows NT Domain environment, these backup the Exchange 2003 Server in
the AD domain, and also a SQL server in the same AD domain. The SQL
backup works fine with no issue, name resolution appears to be fine on
the Exchange Server, running ping, bpclntcmd checks run fine from Master
to Client, and Client to Master.

=20

When the backup starts, the processes spawn, media mounts, appears to
start to run backup, fails with the error stated below.

=20

Any ideas ?

=20

Thanks

Brad

        =20

        Hi,=20

I am requesting a bit of advice regarding Netbackup Datacenter
4.5 FP8, and it's ability to backup Exchange 2003 Information Stores.

The Exchange 2003 server has only a client installed, this being
backed up from a Media Server currently running Windows 2000 / Exchange
5.5. This server has correct licensing and agents for Exchange and SSO,
as does the Master Server, (also running Windows 2000).

I have configured a policy to backup 2 Mailbox Stores within the
First Storage Group on the Ex2003 Server, and these appear to work
partially, but return a failure of=20

"failure reading file: Microsoft Information Store:\First
Storage Group\Log files (BEDS 0xFFFFFEA9: 0xa000fea9 (2684419753)"

Has anybody been successful in running backups of Ex2003 using
this NB4.5, and if so, had any other issues with Exchange ? Also, any
advice on why I am receiving the error reading file ?

        Many thanks=20
