Hi All,
=20
I have a query regarding NetBackup and its media management during
Duplication / Backup events using tape drives.
=20
We have two LTO2 M1500 tape libraries from Quantum each with 2 x 12 tape
magazines and one drive.
We have one Master/Media server combo attached to these two libraries NB
5.0MP4
We have noticed that while duplication events are taking place, if we
require to add/remove tapes from the libraries and re-inventory them in
NetBackup media manager the tape that is in the drive is "forgotten"
about, so when it is finished with or another tape is requested
NetBackup and the M1500 get in a right tizzy as NetBackup no longer
knows about the tape and as such does not inform the library to remove
it from the drive and place it back in a magazine. The only way to get
the library functioning properly again is to manually move the tape to
an empty slot in one of the magazines using the tape move function of
the M1500. This is most incontinent as we have to wait for all
duplication events to finish before we can remove the magazines from the
libraries and add/remove tapes as required.
=20
Has anyone else had similar problems and how did you fix them?
Any help would be graciously received.
=20
Best Regards,
Bill.
