Thanks for the help. I wasn't adding the -p option. I tried -p scratch
and got the same error. Someone said do a vmquery -m att160 to get the
volume pool that it was assigned to, which was the scratch pool. The
problem was I was using a small "s" versus a capital "S". I didn't
realize that it was case sensitive on a windows server.

Thanks for everyone's feedback.

Thanks for all the replies, most said to run bplabel. I did run bplabel
and received this error:
=20
C:\Documents and Settings\veritas>bplabel -ev att160 -d hcart
Request terminated because of volume pool mismatch
=20
Any ideas?

Subject: [Veritas-bu] reusing a catalog backup
I had a tape accidentally get used as a catalog backup tape last week.
I have deassigned, deleted, expidated, you name it I have tried it, but
they still FREEZE when used for backups as the system still thinks they
contain Catalog backups. =20
I searched the archives and searched google and didn't see a resolution.
Anyone had success doing this?

Thanks,
Jim
