The Oracle Database Agent is a front end for RMAN.
It has hooks into the Oracle backup libs allowing RMAN
to talk directly to Veritas.
We use RMAN/NBU to backup all of our databases.
( well, nearly all. still a couple of v7 apps hanging on
that are scheduled for upgrades)
