NetApp backups are simply a BSD-style dump. If the special files
survive under a Solaris dump then they'll survive under a NetApp dump.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] NDMP backup/restore of Solaris boot disk
Has anyone ever restored a solaris boot disk from an NDMP backup?
I'm thinking of mirroring the OS to the SAN and backing up the mirror
using NDMP
on a Netapps Filer to Netbackup.
But would all the Solaris device files, pipes, etc. still be OK after I
restored
the image?
Thanks,
Chris.
