Rather than deleting the drive, try the "tpautoconf -replace_drive" option.
It'll fix the serial numbers in every media server automagically.

This is a v5.X command. It'd upgrade just for this abiltiy.

Hello,

everytime you change a tape, the new one comes with a new serial number.
Netbackup relies on these serial numbers.
Delete the drive and reconfigure SSO for this drive. This should help.

Best Regards

Martin

Has anyone had the following happen?
Drive number x was replaced with a new drive. The original device file was
c14t0d0. After the new drive is installed the device file changes to
c18t8d0. It doesn't happen every time a drive is replaced, but when it does
SSO gets real confused.

This is a HPUX 11.11 system. A IBM 3584 library with HP LTO2 drives.
