So....looking back at my full backup from Friday the 21st, I see 600
gigs of data backed up
If I restore, the restore reports 900 gigs dumped from tape...Are you're
telling me the data is getting decompressed somehow during the restore?
=20
I don't see how this is possible.
Every other machine (non-Exchange) I backup reports the amount of data
backed up, accurately.
=20
If I backup a machine with 20 gigs, then the backup in activity monitor
reports 20 gigs backed up.
When I restore, the restore reports the same, right to the KB.
These Exchange backups are really buggin me.=20
=20
I will start a full restore again tomorrow morning, of Friday's backup,
and see what happens.=20

SO I'm doing some testing/troubleshooting of Exchange
backups/restores
(full SG backup/restore, not mailbox level.)
=20
The Exchange Admins are telling me there is only 500Gig of data
on the system, but I did a FULL restore yesterday of the 4 storage
groups and I see the following in Activity Monitor:
=20
SG1 - 244977365KB
SG2 - 341111422KB
SG3 - 213863562KB
SG4 - 155591232KB
=20
Which adds up to ~900 Gig
=20
Browsing the Backup, Archive and Restore GUI, I see the
following:
=20
=09
SG1 - 162.5G
SG2 - 226.75G
SG3 - 99.9G
SG4 - 70.0
=20
Which is about 660 Gig.
=20
Why the descrepency?
=20
what is the easiest way to see what is on tape? The backup is
expired from Activity Monitor, and therefore bpdbjobs.
I can't imagine NB could restore more tha what is on tape. Is
the reporting wrong for the restore?
