The best way is to use a DNS entry for the backup LAN and associated NIC's.

Short example:

Client name is Condor public IP is a DNS entry for Condor -

To backup Condor on our backup LAN we Put a DNS entry for Condor-P with a
separate IP " the -P is for private LAN"

Configure the backup NIC on the client with the static IP number for the
Condor-P

The we just backup Condor-P not the public Condor

Just remember to add the -P to the server name for restores and for reports
etc...

We backup only about 36 Clients, mixed HP and Windows Servers / PC's so it's
pretty small.

2.5 Terabytes total used space and I use this method for all of our backups.
Just keep a tight grip

on the DNS database,

That required Network Interface seems a little shaky?

I have Master, Media server and all the clients with 2 network interfaces.
One is for regular network and the other one is for Net backup network.
I have added REQUIRED_INTERFACE = mssrv1-nbkp which is host name of second
interface using for backup on NB client in file bp.conf.
Still I see backup traffic is going via regular network.
Do I need to anything in Net backup server/clients ? Can some help me on
this.

Master and Media server:
