[Veritas-bu] VSP & McAfee?

The recent VSP threads caused me to pose the following question:

If VSP writes it's cache file during the backup process, & McAfee is
configured for on-access scanning, wouldn't there be excessive disk (&
potentially NIC) I/O as McAfee scans the constantly updated cache file?
This could explain some poor throughput stats we're seeing.

Does VSP consistently use the same filename or directory for it's cache
file? If not, is it configurable to the point you could designate a
target directory for the cache file?

My thought is that if the above scenario actually does exist, McAfee
might need an additional exclude statement for the VSP cache file.

Thank you,
