We are getting similar problems in a 5.0 MP2 environment. 2nd media server
is behind a firewall, and some of its backups overnight fail with a 219. At
present we are looking into network or firewall issues.

Hi Sue,

I have seen something similar on a new 5.1 deployment I was recently
involved. The solution is a 5.1 Enterprise on windows 2003 in a SAN with
clustered backup server and 3 clustered media servers, there are 6 LTO2 tape
drives available. Occasionally one or two of the jobs during the night will
fail with error 219 storage unit unavailable. At the time all devices are
showing available, however, the Application log shows 'devices busy' job
requeues and after short while fails.

I too would be interested to here from someone who could shed some light on
this one

Regards

Imran

(213)

We've recently upgraded from Netbackup BusinesServer version 4.5GA to
Enterprise Server verision 5.1.

We've tried running backup jobs but get the following error each time.

the required storage unit is unavailable(219)

When i check the bpsched log it gives the following error
scheduler exiting - no storage units available for use (213)

We've checked the configuraiton of the storage unit and it look Ok apart
from there being nothing under the 'number of drives' column. Both tape
drives are there and are UP.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Sue
