I'm going from a spreadsheet updated 11/25/2002. I hope the model
pricing is still current:
For Windows and Linux:
Tier 1 - 1 CPU
Tier 2 - 2 or 3 CPUs
Tier 3 - 4 to 7 CPUs
Tier 4 - 8 or more CPUs
For Unix:
Tier 1 - Desktop Workstations/Workgroup servers
e.g. Sun V480 and 880 are in this tier.
Tier 2 - Departmental Servers
e.g. Sun V1280, 3800, HP rp7400, rp7405, rp7410
Tier 3 - Enterprise Servers
e.g. Sun 4800, 4810, 6800, HP rp8400
Tier 4 - Global Enterprise Servers
e.g. Sun 12k, 15k
I hope this helps. I sure wish Veritas would make this spreadsheet
downloadable for everybody with current model numbers.
The spreadsheet also notes that VCS does not follow this model.
