We will be upgrading several HP servers from 11.0 to 11i. They are all SAN
media servers running NB 5.0_MP3. All of the servers have the same system
configurations so we will create a "Golden" tarfile from the server that we
have already upgraded from 11.0 to 11i. We will then load the base ignite
and then extract the Golden tarfile on all of the target servers. NetBackup
is part of the "Golden" tarfile. We will have to change the client name in
the bp.conf file and restore the media db. The backup/restore of the media
db will be done over the network via the master server. We have included the
following files for the NetBackup backup/restore portion:
/usr/openv/netbackup/bp.conf
/usr/openv/netbackup/db/media
/usr/openv/volmgr/vm.conf
/usr/openv/volmgr/database
/usr/openv/var

With vmglob being so robust in 5.0 MP3 should I skip the
/usr/openv/volmgr/database ?
Especially since new device drivers will be generated?
And then delete the existing globdb on the gdb_host (master server) and
rebuild from scratch?

Respectfully,
Bob S.
