If this were being run on a Unix Master, I would suggest that the Java
GUI be installed on a PC workstation and the users log in with an ID
that has been set up in the /usr/openv/java/auth.conf with only media
management rights. That way the operators could log in and only be able
to eject the tapes via the GUI by clicking on the appropriate tapes and
ejecting the tapes from the library.
=20
I don't know how to do this on a windows Master.
=20
Can someone tell me how to set up the Java Console to connect to a
Windows Master?
=20
Is there an equivalent auth.conf for the windows environment?
=20

I have a solaris netbackup server running 4.5fp5 and I use vmchange . .
.=20

vmchange -vh <hostname> -res -m <mediaid> -mt <media_type> -rt
<robot_type> -v <volume_group> -e -sec 1=20

Example:=20
vmchange -vh bckpr1 -res -m $media -mt DLT -rt none -v rack_storage -e
-sec 1=20
NOTE: that $media is a script variable that can come from the command
line=20

Vmchange will also eject multiple media:=20
        vmchange -res -multi_eject -w -verbose=20
        -rn <robot_number> -rt <robot_type> -rh <robot_control_host>=20
        -ml <media_id:media_id:...:media_id>=20

Hope this helps.=20

Hello all,=20

Need some help finding the right CLI command. What I'm doing is making a

simple script that will eject a tape from a silo. I want to have our=20
operators type something like eject_tape.cmd BCA0001 =20

My problem is I can't seem to find a NBU command that will eject a tape=20
either by giving the slot number the tape is in or the barcode. I tried=20
vmrobcmd.exe but I kept getting hung up with an error saying that it=20
could not connect to the robotic software daemon. Communication to the=20
robot is fine since I can use robtest and vmupdate to access it.=20

Can anyone help?=20

This is a Windows environment with all Windows master and medias.=20

Thanks,=20
