Assunto: [Veritas-bu] [NBU5.1] incremental backup from BCV/Snapshot

Is it possible with NetBackup 5.0 to get an incremental backup from f.e. a
BCV/Clone or Snapshot?

The BCV is created from it's source. When during the backup the archive bits
are set so NetBackup can track which files are changed. With the next
incremental backup the unchanged files will be skipped.

Because these archive bits are not set on the source but on the BCV, the
next time the BCV is created an incremental backup will act as a full backup
and backup all the data.

F.e. we have a large fileserver. Because of the small backup window we
decide to create BCV's and backup the BCV's. So we create a backup windows
of 23h. Instead of creating a "small" daily incremental backup we get daily
a full backup of all the data.

With other backup products it's possible to specify only the files that
changed the last 24h, and thus creating an incremantal backup.

What are the capabilities of NetBackup at this point? (and how to configure
them)

Thanks
