It's a lot easier to re-allocate if necessary.  For instance if the
bridge goes out or the drive takes a dirt nap all you need to do to
still get backups over fc is change the zoning.

We have something similar, but note that...
Veritas doesn't support SSO on NDMP drives, you will have to dedicate
the tape drives exclusively to the Netapp. So why connect via the
switch?
We have it this way,
 R150-->STK SN3250-->2 drives on STK L700 (LTO-1)
