Hello all!
=20
The problem had to do with client naming. The client's windows name was =
called "exbe", but the name used from the backup server's point of vies =
was "backup-exbe". File backups worked ok, but when trying to make =
exchange backups the client tried to access "\\backup-exbe\Microsoft =
Information Store" internally on the client, which caused error messages =
in the bpbkar log file on the client:
=20
02:45:51.744: [1120.4016] <2> ov_log::V_GlobalLog: ERR - =
bedsExchange2000Init():DLE_FindByName() for '\\backup-exbe\Microsoft =
Information Store' Failed! (0xFFFFFE08:The item was not found.)

=20

So changing the name to "exbe" in the backup server and the netbackup =
client config made everything work.

=20

However isn't this a bug; you can rename a backup client, but not when =
backing up exchange servers? Shouldn't the bpbkar process us =
\\localhost\Microsoft Information Store <file://\\localhost\Microsoft =
Information Store>  instead?

=20

Problem solved but not the solution I wanted...

Hello once more!
=20
I'm experiencing problems related to my original question right now with =
Exchange backups on a newly installed server.=20
=20
When starting the Backup Archive and Restore client on the exchange =
server, I cannot only see the file system, system state and the =
individual mailboxes in the tree structure. The information store is not =
available to backup manually from the client.
=20
Also when trying to backup using a policy where the storage groups are =
listed, it fails with return code 71 - none of the files in the file =
list exists.
=20
The service is currently started as LocalSystem. I guess this problem is =
related to privileges. Anyone who has a hint?
=20
Regards
/bl=E5berg

Hello!=20

When installing the Netbackup client in windows, the service is run as =
Localsystem. If I don't want the service to be run as Localsystem, which =
priviledges does the user need instead for normal file backup, active =
directory backup and exchange backup respectively?
