That's odd, we've had minor glitches (mainly due to the environment
growing rapidly and schedules needing to be adjusted) but not many as a
result of the application. AIX has been an awesome platform for us. NONE
of the issues you've mentioned. I say there's absolutely nothing to be
afraid of if you have a good grasp of the O/S you're planning on running
NetBackup on. Then again our main NetBackup *guy* has a lot to do with the
fact that it runs like a top as well ;-)

BE AFRAID !! - - - - BE VERY AFRAID !!!!!!

We have had nothing but extremely bad experiences with AIX. I would
rather go to a different application then be forced to load production on
and AIX driven platform. Configuration issues, timing issues, hanging are
just a few of the issues.

Thank you,

I have been asked to look into using IBM blade servers for my NetBackup
environment.
What experiences are people having with AIX Masters and Media servers?
Should I embrace NetBackup on AIX or be afraid?
My environment is large, using a 9310 silo w/over 20 - 9940b tape drives.
G.Bruce
