Well not exactly.  It does however know how many tape blocks to expect =
during a read process and if the blocks expected differs from the blocks =
read, it will generate an error.

Similarly upon the creation of the backup job, NBU does the same.

You do have the option after the backup to run a VERIFY manually on a =
particular backup image on a particular media.  This will compare what =
NBU has recorded in its database with what is on tape.
