Just asked this of David Little the other day actually and he told me it was
due to vmd generating child processes for various operations; those messages
are the child processes terminating. New to 5.0, as you noticed.
As for getting rid of them - are you running with a verbose level at all ? I
haven't had time to experiment yet to see if that gets rid of them.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Strange messages in /var/adm/messages on server
Hello,
I'm using NetBackup 5.0 MP2 on Solaris 9 and
I have noticed the following messages in my /var/adm/messages
on the NetBackup master server:

These come several times during the day, and were not there
before. In particular, there is a mention of an attempt
in cleaning the drive, but I did clean the drive manually
with a cleaning tape and the messages persist only on
drive index 2.
I put no cleaning tape in the robot, I prefer to do it
periodically by hand.
Any clue on what these messages are, and how to stop them
from generating?
Thanks
Louis-Luc
