I didn't think 267716 applied to file names, just paths.

But 267716 also says 'Exclude lists without a preceding "/" won't work'.

I agree with Mark, this is a serious step backward. Veritas didn't
recode to improve performance when there is no leading "/", but took
away a valuable and documented feature! Bad.

For example, I have changed traditional status code 1 backups to 0's
just be excluding the (Netscape) "parent.lock" file (on Windows
desktops). Finding the path to "parent.lock" is MUCH more difficult, as
it varies from client to client.

The 5.1 doc (SAG Vol I Pg 142) shows an example of a relative path and
file name without a path specified. :-(

But then the same 5.0 manual has the exact same example on the exact
same page.

This isn't a new feature, ladies and gentlemen; it's a (documented after
the fact) bug. :-(

If Veritas refuses to correct this, shouldn't we have a tool to help
find the entries that no longer work? A fairly simple server script
using bpgetconfig should do the trick.

cheers, wayne

P.S. I haven't verified Mike Day's observation (he may have a space
after each file name), but suspect his conclusion is correct and
important to most of us.
