[Veritas-bu] Help! bpimport taking hours to complete

I may suggest it is time to get some PM (preventative maintenance) done
on your drives and validate calibration, etc..  During my days as a
consultant prior to my current employment, I had a client who's PM on
their drives was virtually non-existent.  When they tried to import a
tape, it failed numerous times (on numerous drives).  After several days
(of downtime) we identified root cause was at the time of writing the
backup.  The drive writing the tape was just out of calibration by very
little, but the resulting effect was an inability to read that tape from
any other properly calibrated drive. =20
