As soon as we get this unit up and running we plan to release
any information we can regarding it's activities and benchmarks. We
already have some interesting ones including tweaks, for the V440 &
the D2 we connected to via SCSI III. If you'd like I can forward them
to you. The throughput was increased and the numbers are interesting.
The network connection is Fiber and we have two of them. Ultimately,
we plan on testing the SUN Trunking package on these to see what, if
anything that buys us. The connection to the i2000 is via two (2) dual
port Fiber HBAs (for redundancy). Since I haven't loaded the VERTIAS
5.1 yet (beginning on Monday) - that's about all I have right now.

We are implementing this exact setup here. I would be interested in
hearing more about the setup. Is it Fibre? Is it on it's own switched
network? I'd like to see some benchmark results, if possible, too. Any
information would be appreciated. :) Thanks.
As far as cleaning tapes, I was told the same thing of AIT-3, but a tech
I work with at ADIC mentioned something interesting. AIT-3 cleaning
tapes are sold. If they are selling tapes, they have to need a cleaning
at some point. Why would a business put resources and technology into
something that isn't needed? Raised an eyebrow or three for me.
