We are just now adding a W2K3 Media Server, all of our other 14 servers =
are 2000. So far, there hasn't been any problems. The comaptibility =
chart on Veritas' site says it's ok as long as you are at 4.5 FP/MP3 and =
above. I am not anticipating any problems.
=20
I would do whatever is administratively easiest right now. Going to the =
2GB fabric won't gain you anything since 1GB is still faster than LTO2 =
can go.

I have a couples on NetBackup questions.=20

We are upgrading our tape library to STK SL8500 with HP LTO2 tape drives =
(we now have a STK L700 with LTO1 drives, my media & master servers are =
W2K )=20

I am thinking of adding two Windows 2003 media server (ep-wpp-bs01 & =
ep-wpp-bs02) to replace the W2K servers (BSMEDIA1 & BSMEDIA2). Is there =
still a problem using Windows 2003 servers and will I have any issues =
with a W2K Master?=20

Also what would be the best way to add the LTO2 media to NetBackup =
during the migration form the old (HCART) library to the new?=20

Should I create a HCART2 Media type or keep the HCART since the LTO1 =
media will work in the LTO2 drives but I only want to use the LTO2 for =
all new backups=20

I also have a Fiber Channel question.=20
We have two fabrics a 1gb (see SAN layout attached) and a new 2GB =
fabric. Both libraries are attached to the 1GB fabric and we use SSO & =
Vault between sights.=20
The new LTO2 drives have a 2GB interface, so should I move all the =
backups to the 2GB fabric or just keep the LTO2 on the 1GB fabric. (My =
guess would be to keep them on the 1GB since I don't think we would be =
able to push that much information) =20
The data transfer peak performance doubles from up to 20MB/second native =
in LTO1 and up to 40MB/second in LTO2 =
