hello list users,
i've checked the list archive for a solution first, but there was no
satisfactory one.
i have a problem with online backuping pf microsoft exchange Database and
Information Store (Exchange 5.5) [directives: 'Microsoft Exchange
Server:\Directory\' and 'Microsoft Exchange Server:\Information Store\']
running on a winnt 4.0 box. the server is sun solaris 8 with NB45. NB45 is
patched.
i have right licenses, i have the exchange additional package installed on
both windows and solaris box.
i get very often the EXIT STATUS 12 (file open failed). sometimes everything
goes fine, sometimes it doesn't. i've discovered that restarting the NBU
client process on the client (windows) side helps for a couple of days, but
the problem occurs within next week after restarting.

the interesting thing is that i have several actually the same from the
technical point of view installations. 23 installations
(winnt+exch5.5+solarisNBU45) works fine, 3 do have the above problem. the
patches, firmware, apps versions are the same everywhere.
i've also tested that the above problem is present in the configuration of
win nt4 + exchange 5.5 + solaris/NB45FP6.
do you have any idea of what might be wrong? i've run out of them.
