I have witnessed the following a couple of days ago :
A test backup starts on MediaServerA . MediaServerA waits for tape =
mount (bptm) :
Waiting for mount of media id D03228 (copy 1) on server MediaServerA.

ACSLS mounts the tape:

1 minute later (before the mount is acknowledged by MediaServerA, before =
SCSI RESERVE is issued) MediaServerB starts a backup and selects the =
same drive, sends a dismount and mounts it's own tape on the drive:

In the meantime MediaServerA patiently waits for the tape mount!!! I =
guess the backup would have eventually terminated with a 52 if we did =
not kill the backup.

The master server is supposed to be the device allocating host - how is =
it possible that the master server allocates the same drive to 2 media =
servers at the same time?

I can't find anything in the master server logs.

Do I log a call with Veritas?
