Mike, is the block size set to 0?
AIX tends to set the block=5Fsize to 512 by default when the tape drive is =
found by cfgmgr.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] tar received an invalid archive
I'm moving to a new AIX box (IBM p650) ? from a different AIX box. I've=20
installed DataCenter 4.6 and had 4.5 running on the old server. I'm=20
attempting to recover the catalog using the bprecover command but I got=20
the error "tar received an invalid archive". I've already run the=20
bprecover ?l to list what's on the tape so it recognizes it properly.
=20
Anyone seen this before? Or does anyone have any better suggestions to=20
move my catalog from the old netbackup server my new one? Both servers=20
have the same name by the way.
=20
Thanks,
Mike
