Bump the timeout period out and possibly split the drive into a few
different streams at the folder level.

I have a W2K client with a lot of data that I'm trying to backup. The
E: drive is very large and backs up about 700 GB before failing with
status 41, network connection timed out after running for 29 hours. I
have broken up the E: drive to get it backed up and to find out where
the problem is so I can rerun just that part if necessary. I also have
turned on logging. My question is how to specify the files at E:\ so it
doesn't back up the whole E drive.

I tried the following
E:\*.*
E:\
E:
but they all back up everything.
