Hi NetBackup experts,

We have Veritas NBU 4.5 MP5 with SSO configuration. Our master server
running on Solaris 8. We have 3 Media Server on Solaris 8 and 2 Media Server
on Windows NT SP6 with STK L180 as our tape library. Recently we implemented
NBU Vault option.

When we try our Vault option the tape was not ejected and we got this
message

15:12:55.055 [5904] <2> logparams: vltoffsitemedia -list
15:12:55.055 [5904] <2> bv_am_i_authorized: bv_auth.c: 135, entering
bv_am_i_authorized

15:12:55.057 [5904] <8> vltoffsitemedia: **LOCALE ERROR** locale
<en_US.ISO8859-1> not found in file </usr/openv/msg/.conf>
15:12:55.073 [5904] <2> logconnections: BPRD CONNECT FROM
10.128.225.140.41462 TO 10.128.225.140.13720
15:12:55.200 [5904] <2> bv_am_i_authorized: bv_auth.c: 182, returning
from bv_am_i_authorized

15:12:55.202 [5904] <8> bpvault_env: ovgetlocale failed
15:12:55.202 [5904] <2> vltoffsitemedia: bpvault_env: Vault started
20040427_151255
15:12:55.204 [5904] <8> bv_readxml: ovgetlocale failed

We add the required line (en_US.ISO8859-1) to the file /usr/openv/msg/.conf.
The tape then can be ejected when we run Vault.

After adding the line, we got another problem when we execute bpmedialist
command. Master server somehow failed to get respons from our Windows Media
Server and returning error message "invalid command parameter". We remove
the line, run bpmedialist, and the problem is gone. But if we don't add the
line, we face the same problem from Vault option. The tape can not be
ejected.

Please advice me.....

Regards,

Andy Darmawan
