Hi,

I have read various suggestions on this list that OTM / VSP be turned off if
it is not needed. The thing I am not clear on, is what is the effect of
turning it off. As I understand it, OTM / VSP is needed if there is a
requirement to keep different files on the client in sync in the backup.

If OTM / VSP is turned off, will individual open files be backed up at all,
or skipped, or might they be corrupt due to changes during the backup time?

I am trying to squeeze a bit more performance out of a labouring backup
infrastructure, so if I can turn off OTM / VSP with impunity, all the
better...

thanks, Phil
