If you look at the original technote concerning the problem it mentions that 
MP1 will include the fix, and be released in April

There was no service pack (MP1) for 5.0 this morning at the Veritas 
support site.  There *is* a "special pack", which is a fix to vmd 
corrupting the volume DB. It has been out a few weeks.
