O.K.
I have been executing BPDIR.

What is this trying to tell me?

I get a list of the files & directories that are contained in each
sub-directory.
What does that mean?

Did you try bpdir -help?

Basically the paramaters are:

bpdir -M <server name> <directory>

Where:
<server name> is the name of the client whose directories you want to list
<directory> is the directory (in the case of windoze, use /C/ for C: /D/ for

D: etc.

Good luck

I could use some more details on this...........
I am running NBU v4.5 on Solaris.

I have found BPDIR in the admincmd directory.
There does not seem to be a man page for it.
I cannot find anything (of value) on the Veritas support web site.

First make sure you are running FULL backups, if you are running
incrementals that may be the reason some files are being skipped. If you are

running fulls, then try using bpdir -M option with your wild card scenarios
and see what you get.

Good luck

I am quite net to NBU and I am having a problem using wildcards.

I have been experimenting by running back ups on the server's home
directory.

I have been running file lists like:

/home
/home*
/home/
/home/*
/home/*/*
....etc.......

I am not seeing consistent results.  Sometimes files are getting backed up;

others not.

I cannot find a "smoking gun" answer in the documentation.

If anyone could shed some light on how the wildcards are supposed to behave,

I would appreciate it.
