Thanks for your help!!!
I have found and modified the global configuration for the "number of jobs
per client."
It was set to just 1. I bumped it to 6.
We are now running multiple concurrent jobs, but still only using one of the
2 tape drives.
I am struggling with your other suggestions.
1) I am not certain what you mean by "containing" both drives.
I do not see any details in the definition of the storage unit
beyond number of drives, fragments and multiplexing.
2) I do not understand "class." Is that the same as "client." That is,
number of jobs per client?

Daniel,
A few things to check:
1) Look at the definition of your storage unit and check it "contains"
both drives
2) Check the class definition to see how many jobs per class are allowed
3) Check the global configuration for the limit on the number of jobs per
client.
Good Hunting!
Richard.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] NetBackup not using 2nd tape drive
Hello.
I have taken over responsibility for a NetBackup (BusinessServer)
environment and I am struggling with what I believe should be an easy
problem.
This is NetBackup v4.5 (Business Server) running on Sun/Solaris 2.8.
The tape library is a Sun-L1000 with 2 drives.
The server and the client are the same.
I have successfully built policies that spawn multiple jobs, but all of the
jobs are running serially to a single tape drive.
What must I do to run multiple jobs concurrently, to multiple tape drives.
