It did some more testing. It seems that bprd is dependant on DNS.

If the server can connect to a dns server bprd seems to start up.

If it can't connect to a dns server, bprd cannot startup.

Even though hostname is in /etc/hosts.

This is odd. Maybe it's a bug.
