[Veritas-bu] Slow throughput?
2004-02-19 09:11:59
I don't know much about Solaris; however, I was recently experiencing
roughly the same performance and have since been able to tweak NBU to 4
concurrent streams running at over 15 MB/s each. Start with these
articles. If possible, set the SCSI tape buffer size to 64K (in Linux,
you have to edit a file and recompile the 'st' module).

Good luck.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Slow throughput?
Hi,
We've recently purchased netbackup business server for one of the
projects the
University is involved in, the details are:
Sun LVD L25 Jukebox attached to a V240 running Solaris 9. It's attached
using an Ultra 3 SCSI card. The jukebox has two HP Ultrium LTO 1 drives.
When backing up the host that the jukebox is attached to we get about
5MB/S throughput, which doesn't seem great to me. I was wondering if I
should be expecting more from this setup (I hope so!) and if anyone has
any suggestions about what to tweak.
Cheers, Ian
