I have vaulted a LTO-I tape [written on a LTO-II drive] - [ST L180 6x LTO-II
FC Drives] - All worked OK.
I then moved the tape from our L180 to a L60 with 6 x LTO-I SCSI drives.

The tape was created in netbackup with a media ID of 5984L1 and put into a
pool on it's own.
Catalog, initate import was selected and 5984L1 was supplied as the media ID
to import.

Now, something strange has happened, see below:

16:50:26.304 [4563] <2> set_job_details: LOG 1076691026 16 bptm 4563 Media
mounted has media id of AF5984, but 5984L1 was requested. Must add AF5984
to Med
ia Manager volume database and retry.

When I dd the tape header I get :

indrepdr /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bptm # dd if=/dev/rmt/0cbn bs=32k |
strings
cwp033_1075906530
AF5984
ThIs Is A BP BaCkUp HeAdEr
Cold-CID-u001
CID-Backup
read: Not enough space
0+1 records in

BUT The tape is known to netbackup as 5984L1 [And has a barcode of AF5984L1]
. It's as if NB has taken the first 6 bytes of the header instead of the
last 6 bytes.
Also, you can't create the tape as AF5984 it will only create as 5984L1.

I need to import this tape for a disaster recovery exercise.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks
