Fast back plane and lotsa network.
Can an intel box really drive 12 AIT-3 drives? I'm very skeptical.
You're V880's have the power but I'm betting you're still not pushing
them unless you've got trunked gig.
No rule of thumb except that I don't think you'll find an Intel box that
will push that many drives. Maybe the big 8-way's have a fast enough
backplane and if you trunk some gig links, who knows...
